If you regularly participate in digital conferences, you’ve probably met Carmen on stage! Her LinkedIn profile is consistently among the top 1% of the industry’s most clicked profiles, and she is regularly seen at start-up events.
As a mentor and trainer she was supporting the following institutions and agencies: Berlin Start Up Academy, Ashoka, SPS – the Art of Training, Institute Synergy and the great Munich coaching company Commax – the latter two repeatedly awarded the German Trainer Award.
With her expertise in leadership and digital topics, she is the perfect match to moderate our panel discussion with Eric Dolatre, Tanja Kufner and Matthias Laug.

One of the reasons to choose our Topic “Copycat EU?! How do we differentiate ourselves from silicon valley?” was the rising common feeling among European companies are struggling to compete with U.S. and Chinese tech companies with a rather dark projection towards our economic and financial future.
In fact, Germans mobility sector – once one of the most valuable industries – is changing to slow and might loose the battle towards e-mobility.
One of the reasons behind is the middle management. “The management must be exchanged if necessary” says Tanja in her NGIN Mobility interview on how to prepare for the future.
Tanja Kufner is partner at dynamics.vc, the innovation and investment unit of the Porsche subsidiary MHP and matchmaker between startups and established companies. With more than 20 years of experience in the startup and venture capital industry, she has invested in more than 100 companies to date and was re-elected in 2018 by EU startups among the 50 most influential women in the startup and VC sectors. Prior to joining dynamics.vc, she was the Managing Director of the Startupbootcamp Berlin with a focus on Smart Transportation & Energy. Here, she accompanied companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Airbus, Cisco, here Vinci, Kühne + Nagel, SBB, EnBW and DB on their way to more innovation.
To date, she has invested in 46 Startups, ranging from Seed to Series A. Her previous investments included well-known companies like GetMobile, Cynobia, Gate5 and CargoGuard.
Tanja states: “It is about the practical implementation, the integration of new technologies into existing processes. This requires the will to drive change at all levels of the organization.”
How can companies accomplish avoiding that trap? How can innovative teams and organizations drive change?
Get exciting insights on Tanjas startup journey and see how she is dealing with young entrepreneurs who want to grow a new business. Matthias Laug, Co-Founder and CTO of the currently jumpstarting e-mobility startup TIER Mobility, will be speaking about change at our POPUP Meetup in Berlin on July 3rd, 6PM 2019.
If you meet Matthias for the first time, you might think that he is just visiting from Silicon Valley – the leading incubator of highly productive tech entrepreneurs. The 34 year old started his career 2009 as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Lieferando – a food delivery company based in Berlin that was acquired by Takeaway.com in 2015. Lieferando started as Yourdelivery and had the challenge to compete with Rocket Internets Delivery Hero.
After joining ThoughtWorks as lead consultant, Matthias experienced a different way of working. The software-developing agency is an international software-developing company to serve customers with digital products. This is where he decided to start at TIER Mobility together with his Co-Founder Lawrence Leuschner.
The inspiring idea was to give people an easier way to get from one place to another – primarily within urban areas where traffic is high. “80 percent of the city’s car rides are less than two kilometers long.” says Lawrence Leuschner in his interview with the FAZ. A new company was born.
Matthias himself is heading towards game-changing technology to shape the future. With lots of challenges – politically, socially, technically and economically.
Find out how he is dealing with them and how he finds practical solutions to complex problems July 3rd at 6 PM at Unicorn Workspaces Berlin Brunnenviertel!

Three top speakers | A world-class moderator | One evening full of interesting insights
On Wednesday July 3rd 2019 at 6pm located at fancy Unicorn Event Space Berlin Wedding the Popup Agency will present the unique POPUP Meetup with its current challenge: “Copycat EU? How do we differentiate ourselves from Silicon Valley?!”. It will be the first Meetup of the new event series “Future of digital work”.
Expect three top speakers, a world-class moderator, an exciting socio- political topic, hundreds of new insights and an opportunity to meet experts from great digital industries.
The idea behind this event was born after a rough philosophical discussion – during a raining winter evening – between four founding members: Tina Banerjee (CEO & Co-Founder of Brainpath), Bernhard Hecker (CEO & Co-Founder of Value.Digital), Martin Wartig (CEO & Co-Founder of Value.Digital, Co-Founder ValueLogic) and Daniel Zehnpfennig (Business Development Manager at ValueLogic). We couldn’t answer this question:
Is our global competitiveness falling? Why is Silicon Valley and China ahead in technology and science? Are they really?
Let’s look at Germany. Germany has 11 of the 100 most valuable brands. In terms of Growing business and Economic strength, Germany is one of the leading economic powerhouses of the European Union.
But people are still asking: Why is disruptive innovation still being produced and developed mostly within the U.S. or China? Why does ‘Made in Germany’ include only few leading digital products and why is there no German website among the 100 most visited if we think of Google Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon and Apple?
Is our current situation really that bad?
Let’s find it out. Let’s hear leading experts to discuss where we are heading.
That’s why found three speakers from various digital branches in a chilling atmosphere to discuss and stimulate the different intercultural changes that shape the future of our digital work.
Let’s hear, how they want to shape the future.
We’re glad to welcome:
Matthias Laug, CTO & Co Founder of TIER Mobility, a worldwide acting startup that offers a completely new eco-friendly transportation opportunities with e-scooters in cities like Berlin, Paris and Dubai.
Eric Dolatre, Co-Founder of Germanys largest e-mail service GMX and CEO & Co-Founder of Brabbler AG, a Munich based IT startup focused on modern, high-secure communication solutions. Eric and his team developed “ginlo”, a secure and privacy protecting messenger for both private users and businesses. Erics vision is a digital world where privacy and confidentiality have become reality.
Tanja Kufner, Partner at MHP – A Porsche Company and Co-Founder at dynamics.vc which is one of the worldwide leading process and IT consulting firms with a deep automotive know-how. In her roles, Tanja provides B2B startups across industries with early-stage funding, hands-on mentorship, technical expertise, and access to a diverse network of industry players, serial entrepreneurs, and investors. Tanja has a long term expertise in venture capital in the US and Europe.
The evening will be moderated by our outstanding moderator Carmen Hentschel. She is internationally active and brings with her presentations the experiences of over 1500 live performances for well-known DAX companies, medium-sized businesses and ministries. With her fervor for digital topics, Carmen will guide us through the evening.
You can look forward to these three exciting short talks with a subsequent lively panel discussion. Get involved and discuss the topic with our experts live. Afterwards you have the opportunity to get in touch with other guests. The Unicorn Eventspace offers the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the rest of the evening with a cold and fresh drink.

“We Are All Stakeholders of Our Global Future”
Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum.
Germany is the third most competitive country in the world, as the World Economic Forum (WEF) in its Global Competitiveness Report 2018 showed.

The World Economic Forum – Global Competitiveness Report 2018
Based on ten different criteria, the country offers the best conditions for mastering innovative processes from idea to marketing. Only slightly worse cut in the point of the US and Switzerland.
The result contrasts with the criticism that is widespread in Germany that Germans are great inventors, but do not understand how to translate their ideas into successful products and companies. Also, the lack of venture capital and the slow expansion with fast data lines (5G) is often lamented.
The WEF changed its methodology in order to show which countries are best forearmed for the what they call the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
Many factors that are crucial in this new environment have in the past played no role in policy decisions, such as brainstorming, entrepreneurial culture, social openness and agility.
This leads to a bunch of questions that brought us – the Popup Team – together:
To what extent do these failed directives affect our present and future working and living environment?
How far can we overcome the challenges of slow policy decisions in the face of the increasing speed of developing markets and technologies?
Or are brainstorming techniques, entrepreneurial skills and agile companies the solution?
What can the german landscape learn from other countries? What can Europe learn?
Is the U.S. American way one to adapt?
What goals should we set ourselves within a new era of self-employed, co-working and international teams to be reached for a better work life future?
In our Popup Meetup on July 3rd 2019 (6pm) we have invited innovative speakers to present their current challenged and ideas to shape the future.
Your are invited to discuss your own experiences, challenges, ideas!
Feel free to come, debate, network and enjoy this beautiful summer evening at the lovely Unicorn.Workspaces Berlin Brunnenviertel located at Brunnenstr. 64 in Berlin Wedding.
